Rabbi Aaron L. Raskin, a dynamic and charismatic leader, hails from a long line of prominent rabbis. His grandfather, Rabbi Jacob J. Hecht, served as official translator to the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
Rabbi Raskin came to Brooklyn Heights in September of 1988 to co-found Congregation B’nai Avraham and serve as its spiritual leader. As an emissary of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, he inspires his congregation, which includes many prominent judges, lawyers, doctors and other community leaders, with his elegant, poignant ethical and spiritual guidance.
Many leading publications have profiled Rabbi Raskin, including National Geographic, the New York Times, and the Jerusalem Post. Rabbi Raskin is the author of several books which explore Jewish mysticism, Jewish law and personal development.
Rabbi Raskin has spoken on over five continents and teaches frequent classes on a variety of topics. More than 500 classes have been recorded and webcast on his YouTube channel, TorahCafe and Jewish.tv, attracting thousands of viewers worldwide each week.
He, his wife Shternie, and their children live in Brooklyn Heights, NY.
